The Role
The whole placement has been an absolute joy! The people are all so friendly and welcoming. I have learnt so much over the last few months about how the company works and hands on business experience.
Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, my manager constantly made me feel valued for all my hard work as well as my team.
I had regular meetings with management and they were there to help all the time. The meetings helped to focus what I wanted to get out of the internship and progress within the company.
Working at Edinbrugh airport meant that we were very busy, especially during August! It's a very steep and fast learning curve, but also a very rewarding one.
The level of responsibility I have had this summer has been incredible, the management trusted me to do the right thing on every decision I made, and was also there for me when I wanted guidance.
Being on a language degree and working at Edinburgh airport has allowed me to not only develop my business skills but to also improve my languages, using them practically everyday.
The Company
When we had a quiet moment the atmosphere was wonderful, the team all got on really well and we are always having a great laugh!
The training was followed immediately by a start, and starting with other interns also meant that you weren't the only new kid!
The company not only provided a training week, but also training days to help us gain new skills. Doing the MT folder during the internship really makes you feel like there is a future in the company, and have something valuable to take away from your summer.
I am looking forward to representing the company on campus. And also returning after university!
The Culture
Busy hours meant that there wasn't a lot of free time outside of work but we did have a night out and became great friends spending the summer together.
I already lived in Edinburgh so my costs stayed about the same! The airport bus takes e bus pass so it was pretty decent travel costs.
It's Edinburgh so it's great!
Charity events were held throughout the summer which we could take part in.
