The Role
It has been my most enjoyable work experience yet.
I felt like another member of staff and completely part of the team.
I had weekly 1:2:1's with my manager where we discussed my skills, how I was settling in, next project moves and career development.
My manager ensured I would always have tasks to do, without weighing me down with too much so that I was stressed. This was done by a lot of thought going into useful jobs for me to do prior to my arrival.
I was given my own project through which I decided on the timeline and the best way to go about executing the project. When I encountered problems I would have a discussion with my manager, but my opinion was always important in the final outcome.
There were many aspects to my project which has given me great examples of all the common transferable skills- communication, project management, meeting deadlines.
The Company
I was in a quieter team but this suited me. Most of my team were engrossed with work a lot of the time, but always had time for a quick chat. Everyone was nice to talk to and made me feel welcome.
No problems encountered!
The 2 induction days, special CV training and interview days provided training on these useful skills. Written packs with tips for interviews/CVs were also sent out.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
For a charity- very good.
The Culture
Very active social scene!
For London it wasn't too bad.
Good pubs and clubs.
I was a volunteer team leader at a sponsored swim event.
