The Role
It was great to work for a big name charity. The staff were really supportive from day one and really made me feel like one of the team.
Everybody has been so lovely and accepted me straight into the team.
Our property manager is split between two National Trust properties so wasn't always in the office. However if we ever needed her when she wasn't in the office, she was only a phone call away and very useful. She also has organised me a trip to another National Trust site which will be more focused on my desired career path which is great!
How busy we were during the summer holiday events was heavily weather dependent as the majority of activities were outdoors or included a long walk to them.
I felt like we were given complete control over running the summer holiday activities.
This internship has really helped with my confidence and team working skills as well as giving me experience in so many areas from Conservation work to working with children.
The Company
Despite the age differences, we got on very well and all the members of staff here are outstanding.
Very well organised and planned throughout, can't fault it at all.
Subsidised Canteen
I could return as a volunteer, however the long commute would put me off. This has added valuable work experience to my CV though.
The Culture
Events were put on for other interns in the Leeds area and I also worked alongside another girl from my university.
Train fares were quite expensive so I opted to live on site for large periods of the internship. They provided me with free accomodation 50m from the office. Awesome!
