About You
HR put a lot of effort in organising this week for us and you could tell, we were meant to feel like we wanted to wok there as much as they wanted us to work there.
We were treated very well and the work we did was always related to the industry and we were told how the skills could be used in the industry
HR were always around to support us if we ever needed anything and they were very open and frank when we spoke to them
We learnt some invaluable interviewing skills which I will use for the rest of my life. The week was less about learning new things and more about seeing what the atmosphere and role of the bank is like and whether we could see ourselves working in it.
The Company
At times there was a bit too much sitting around and sometimes we had to attend talks on parts of the bank that some people were not interested in but it was still informative and interesting to see what these parts did.
The other interns were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. on other insight placements it has felt like we were up against each other for very few places on the internship program but this rather felt like we were in this together not against each other.
I got to shadow a professional in the fields I am interested in and there were various networking opportunities.
This was what the whole week was based around and the week was structured very well and by the end of it most of us wanted to work at BAML
We learnt the company culture by having frank discussions with employees varying in seniority and role
I am so glad I applied and got onto the placement and I feel like I now REALLY know what I want to do, it has helped to put my mind to rest definitely.
Everything Else
I would not expect to be paid for this one week placement and frankly them paying my travel expenses is generous!
Every moment of the placement was a networking opportunity! It gets quite intense with other interns networking as well but as the week goes on you get better at it!
Great fun and interesting, also a little bit intimidating but this i because of the other interns not the banks staff
yep we had a few presentions on the bank charity work
yes I couldn't recommend it highly enough!
