The Role
Brilliant internship. Cannot recommend highly enough.
The work I did was appreciated and will actually be used after I have gone.
At Metaswitch you get assigned a Manager and a Mentor, but mine were the same person (which isn't particularly rare).
Workload was slightly varied with the demands of the project - but was consistently pitched about right as I was setting my own milestones.
While the project I was working on wasn't customer facing, I was given responsibility to design, specify and implement the project based on team idea submissions.
Practical programming skills will be very useful, as will experience of designing a product from the ground up.
The Company
Nice relaxed atmosphere
I knew what was happening and when - what else do you need?
I was given ample time to ramp up on the technical aspects of the job, and there was a full review process, including an assessed presentation.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Offered a job for next year
The Culture
Weekly pub trips, meals and other activities planned within the intern group
Outskirts of London so not cheap but not too expensive
Not really relevant to me - a lot of good pubs though
Lots of sports and similar on offer
