    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The week was very enjoyable, a good balance between interactive demonstrations and useful Q&A sessions

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Bank of America Merrill Lynch went quite out of their way to make us feel welcomed throughout the week, providing us with lots of food and drink, encouraging us to ask any question we may have about the company which were always answered honestly.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • All members of staff were extremely helpful, they provided with honest answers to the questions asked. HR knew each and everyone one of us and made an effort to guide throughout the week.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • They provided a lot of assistance on the general recruitment process within the financial industry, such as practise group exercises similar to what would occur in an assessment centre. They provided immediate feedback which will help in the future.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • A well laid out timetable of events, that flowed into one and other, some long breaks in between at times but they allowed for networking with other insight candidates.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was great amongst all candidates and staff, I have made some friendships here that I will remember

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It was quite evident that the company had invested a lot of time into the event we encountered many staff members who had taken time out of their days to come and see us.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Prior to this week I had little to no knowledge of the roles within the industry, after I have a good working knowledge of what goes on behind the closed doors. This experience has confirmed it is the industry that I wish to go into.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • We got a chance to see the business as it operates on a day to day basis by work shadowing, this help me see first hand what the day to day culture of the bank is like

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Without this opportunity I would be applying for internships with no real idea what the industry was like and if I was making the correct decision. However this week confirmed this is the industry that I want to work in.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • They reimbursed for all travel expenses, they only thing that I had to pay for was my food in the evening. Each day they provided breakfast and lunch. Also accommodation was provided for in a great location.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • So many opportunities to network there were at least 1 or 2 each day

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking events were very good, each staff had a name badge with which department they were from. It was easy to identify who you should be talking to. Additionally they were very forthcoming with information in the networking events.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • During the networking events this was a question that I asked many times, and there is are quite a few to do

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • If you do not have much time in the summer and would like some experience I would definitely recommend this insight week.
