The Role
Very enjoyable as you can learn so mcuh everyday, you're given exposure to people of all levels in the bank, almost every person you wish to see will make time for you and events on te side like the boat are great bonuses.
Very valued not only because of the work (that is actually adding value) that they give you but because you build relationships that make the working experience even more enjoyable for yourself and those around you.
Whenever I needed help and even when I didn't at times, it was provided. My manager recognised that even if he was helping me with something not directly applicable to what I was doing I was still willing and enthusiastic to hear about it.
To begin with it was a bit slow and not being in a particularly BAU role can leave you with flat moments however on the whole the more I put in and wanted to do, the more I got back.
I was given responsibilty but not as much as I wanted. Admittedly the task I wanted to be a part of was relatively complex and probably beyond me but just to have even done some of the ground work for the particular task would have been enjoyable for the real challenge. I was challenged nonetheless with deadlines and by being given the lead on the expenses project.
The most important thing I learnt from this internship is how I work and how far I can go when needed. Those periods where I had to stretch myself and maintain a consistent level of focus and determination showed me more about my ability and how far it can go. That, I think, is priceless, not to mention the more granular excel and PowerPoint skills that I can take away with me.
The Company
Though the overall office might not have always have been lively, people were always happy to have a quick chat and my team was probably the liveliest in the office! Good fun.
From a high level it was very oganised however I got off to a slow start because there was not much for me to do when I got there nonetheless when things got rolling I was busy.
There were induction meetings, speaker sessions, networking sessions, opportunities to attend educational social events and the people you're around everyday have time for you.

I think J.P. Morgan will always look great on the CV.
The Culture
Some friends for life.
Socialising was fun and we were paid enough to go out and have fun.
Fleet Street is very close to central london so it was easy to leave straight from the office. Canary Wharf has a bars that come to life usually from mid week.
I could still play football with my Old Boys team every saturday.
