The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement and really enjoyed all the new opportunites I encountered. It was a steep learning curve having never carried out this type of work before but colleagues were always happy to help if I asked. The trip to Brussels was pretty exciting too! The only downside was the placement being 2 weeks long, unlike the 3 week long placement in the summer.
The whole office was very friendly.
In amongst the work, the work experience programme students were provided with other activities and meetings provided by Graduate Recruitment.
There was a perfect balance considering my level of experience.
I learnt a lot about what it is like to work in an office environment and in particular within the legal sector. These are skills that I have since used and will be with me forever.
The Company
There has to be a balance between "fun" and getting the work done. Everyone works hard but they were all very friendly and people enjoyed socialising on their lunch breaks. The office could be no means be described as "dull".
A brilliantly organised programme and carefully chosen activities resulted in an excellent placement opportunity.

The Culture
All the placement students got on well with each other and Graduate Recruitment organised activities for us to do together on many occasions so we got to know each other better.
I was fortunate enough to be able to live at home and commute to work so that was cheap as chips! As for socialising...that was mainly organised by Mayer Brown.
There were a lot of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the office.
