The Role
Had many challenges each day and really developed my skills
People came to ask me questions on areas I had developed within for use within their work and really DID NOT treat me like a placement at all!
People were very geared to helping you out personally as well as within work - I had monthly meetings with my line manager and I had time to discuss my dissertation and got help from all my team with regard to any Uni work
Some days were stressful but it kept you motivated and engaged and developed my skills greatly especially time management skills
I had the total responsibility of an online account for one of the major supermarkets and had genuine responsibility - the more responsibility you wanted the more you got!
Skills developed on personal, work and social aspects and I had a fantastic year!
The Company
There was a serious aspect whereby work needed to be done but if targets were met there were big nights out and the fun and banter in the office was fantastic!
Some aspects were very well sorted yet others like the retaining of placement for graduate jobs did lack!
Any training included all placements even towards a field sales experience teaching you how to cold sell and putting you up in hotels for days and even weeks!
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
They were not very forward thinking in trying to accept you back to the company although when finding out you had graduate jobs elsewhere they tried their best to get you back!
The Culture
Totally! We all lived together and had an awesome time!
It was expensive but with the salary it was well worth it and living so close to london was fantastic!
Relatively boring but windsor and reading are very close and London is only a small train journey away and adds to all the fun!
Yes - I joined a sports club and trained 4 nights a week and then there was many other things to do in and around the area - I never got bored!
