About You
I had the chance to look at a lot of varied teams across Assurance and different clients - this meant that the experience was never dull
Everyone was willing to talk to you - at meeting, they would all specially ensure you understood the background/what was going on
In terms of advice on a career in audit, there was lots.
Since it's only a week, the skills you gain are highly limited. You do help out with some of the work - I had a chance to help come up with ideas for audit pitches and do some qualitative research, but you don't really do much work that adds value, it's more about learning about the career
The Company
It only consisted of shadowing, they weren't any talks, so the experience really just depends on who you get to shadow!
Obviously assurance isn't fast paced, but the exposure to different teams meant that the work was varied!
A week is limited for any firm to be able to 'invest' in you as such, but it's good as an eye opener to a future career in audit
Shadowing is far better than talks and presentations in understanding what people actually do day to day in the division
PWC have an amazing culture, so supportive and about team work, you could see it in action!
Being able to see day to day work life was highly helpful, whether you decide it's for you or not!
Everything Else
Given you work very little during the week, the pay is generous!
You get to know a few people well rather than meet lots of people
Little social events - it's not really the aim of the week!
Everyone would talk to you about what they were involved in!
It's really a helpful experience, if you have any interest in PWC or assurance as a career
