The Role
The placement was a great experience and offered real insight into the planning department of Savills
Colleagues were friendly and welcoming and were happy to delegate interesting work to me
The right support system was in place but I didn't feel like I got the most out of my appraisal at the end
There was one day where I had nothing to do but apart from that there a steady rate of varied tasks
Certain tasks required much more responsibility eg. writing objection letters and others not so much. But this meant there wasn't overwhelming pressure to complete everything at once and meant I could prioritise without difficulty
I think that it will offer invaluable skills for the future
The Company
It was good hanging around with other summer scheme students but colleagues were very busy with their workloads. They did make time for conversation and invited us for a drink with them on the last day.
This was one of the highlights. There were lots of planned activities such as a rounders match and two tours of the city, ensuring we made the most out of our stay
We were invited to a few events to enhance our networking skills and enhance our knowledge of the property industry
I would need to do a masters to be considered for any graduate level entry so it is entirely dependent on funding and where the future takes me
The Culture
There were plenty of opportunities to mix with other placement students
Naturally London is very expensive
The cost somewhat took away from this but the office was well situated for nightlife
I'm not sure
