About You
The best part of the insight was meeting some of the people working in the industry. It's clear that Bank of America Merrill Lynch takes hiring seriously, having a very talented workforce working in different departments of the bank. Definitely a place where you can develop your skills and learn from the people you work with.
A high number of employees of different ranks were involved in the insight week, which really helped gaining an insight.
During the week we had skill sessions in two areas I have a deep interest in: enhancing innovation and avoiding cognitive biases. It was nice to see the bank investing resources in these areas, which are not directly linked to generating revenues, but still very important for producing high quality work.
The Company
We were involved in work shadowing, which helped understand the role of certain departments and discover the daily responsibilities of the employees in the those departments.
After the insight week and the work shadowing events, I decided to switch my preferred department to one that has a better match for my skills.
