About You
It was a well rounded experience with activities being organised outside of the official work hours as well such as networking events.
But only because it's hard to prove your capability in 3 weeks.
There were 3 induction days covering all aspects of EY and anyone is happy to answer your questions when you are working in the office.
A lot of Excel and PowerPoint work which was really useful, but they were used for very different things than you would use them for day-to-day things.
The Company
Sometimes there was a lull in the work, but as long as you take the initiative to go and find work this isn't a problem at all. Everyone also understands that you are a newcomer and don't know everything.
I didn't meet one person who was miserable, everyone was really friendly! The rapport between the rest of the interns too is great.
Accommodation in London was provided for the duration of my internship so that I didn't have to commute; there were 3 induction days at the beginning to help you; you are provided with a buddy and a counsellor who helps you with personal development.
As the internship was so short (3 weeks) there wasn't enough time to be placed on a project, but I got to experience many areas in my department and meet a lot of people.
Every employee knows the company's ethos and vision for the future. I didn't meet anyone unfriendly and the working environment is great.
It gave me little taster, but when I go back next summer for a longer internship (10 weeks) that will help me decide for definite.
Everything Else
The realise you are a working member, contributing like everyone else and so they pay you during the internship.
They encourage you to network all the time and people are generally very happy just to meet you for a quick coffee during the day.
They were all expenses paid and introduced you to a lot of people to build relationships. They were all great fun. Some examples are: table tennis, drinks, dinner etc.
There are posters about advertising company clubs however I didn't get a chance to experience any of them.
It was great and I really enjoyed my time there. As I'm on the Scholarship programme I have another two 10 week internships left and I cannot wait!
