The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. There were definitely parts that were more fun than other, however I believe that comes with any job.
Cannot fault anyone when it comes to friendliness as well as how supportive people were.
Roy Gould was brilliant. Always had time for me.
I finished all the work on my last day with an hour half to spare. The whole time I have always been busy.
I was allowed to work independently on the software projects that I was doing, which allowed me to get a lot out of it.
I think the skills that I gained (both soft and technical) will be invaluable when I return to university. I believe this was only possible due to the nature of being given real tasks and problems to deal with and so gain real-world experience.
The Company
Open plan office which is nice with good break area
I think organisation was generally good especially that undertaken by my department, however IT services could have been better.
Was given a day course on an in-house library and the company allowed to learn Python and C++.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Healthcare from home
Been effectively offer the job, however do need to apply via the website again (which does seem a waste of time)
The Culture
The other interns that I was with were really nice and I got on with them well.
Cannot comment as I lived at home
Cannot comment as I lived at home
The grads were really nice and constantly offered things to do with them such as climbing, cinema and house parties. Unfortunately, due to living quite a distance away, I was unable to go to these.
