The Role
It was good fun.
I felt like a made a fairly valuable contribution, helping out with various tasks to assist the team
My buddy was very helpful and gave me the majority of my work
I was never too busy. I would have liked more work as there were times when i needed things to do but there was nothing for me
I would have liked a bit more responsibilty as i felt i could make a contribution, but equally after only 10 weeks i didn't feel completely au fait with some stuff
It was good to learn various job skills and learn about compliance. The whole process including the interview will be very beneficial going forward
The Company
It was good however the London office had far more going on and had a more proffessional feel to it
There were little things such as not gettting the details of other interns till very late and the fact that my interview expenses weren't refunded till late July (3 months later)
Santander pay for relevant qualifications for Compliance which are good for career development and would help if looking to move forward.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
The way the Internship worked was that if you were reccomended by your line manager and there was a space for you on the grad scheme then you would get the job. However there was no Compliance grad scheme for 2014 which was dissapointing. Especially in such a fairly large and growing department.
The Culture
We had lunch together every day and met up after work with the others that were around
Milton keynes was pretty cheap really average would be £400 per month on rent
Average
I played for a cricket team and a guy from works team at the weekend. There's also other things such as football teams
