    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • There was a real mix between lab work and work sitting at a computer desk- this was a good balance

    • Everyone was very welcoming and interested in the work which was being done

    • It was during the summer so there was a lot of different people being on holiday to contend with

    • The project was fairly open ended so there was always work to be done

    • The guidelines for the project were initially given but the rest was down to me. Including contacting other workers to obtain equipment

    • A very good insight into how a business works

    • People were always willing to help out whenever it was needed

    • Quite a few issues in the first few days but that was soon ironed out

    • Training on the equipment that was needed was given but nothing over and above that

    • Not in final year yet but would be willing to go back next year

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • A few nights out with graduates were organised but more contact was needed in the very beginning

    • It seemed fairly standard

    • Glasgow has quite a lot going on

    • Nothing arranged through work but there is lots out there if you look for it!
