The Role
I really enjoyed the experience, throughout the year I learnt a lot and got involved in lots of different projects.
Trust was built quickly and continued throughout the year, by the end I was being asked the questions rather than me asking.
Monthly mentor meetings, quarterly HR meetings and periodic reviews with my manager. However if you ever needed anything all you had to do was ask!
Due to being a project engineer it varies but also depends on how much you are willing to get involved within the departments.
Responsibility was increased with time, with individual projects being assigned throughout.
Being in a big company you have to develop communication skills and gain a greater understanding of how all the departments work together, something university can't really teach.
The Company
The banter never stops! But you know that if you need help they are there and willing to help.
Handover was based around the Vauxhall handover and proved more difficult due to travelling to Millbrook, now that Millbrook is running their own it is much better!
You get lots of initial training so that you are capable of the role including driver training. I also spent a week in France at another manufacturing plant.

I have been fast tracked to the graduate assessment centre.
The Culture
The Millbrook undergraduates all lived within 10 minutes of each other so lots of opportunities.
The house we had was awesome and cheap! Generally quite cheap when we went out as well.
Not bad but better areas weren't too far away.
Quite a few, there was always a new email of the next event or activity including squash, football, golf and more.
