The Role
Really interesting getting involved in real high profile issues that are affecting the UK currently.
Really nice people across the business. All the interns were really supportive along with faststreamers.
Lots of help and guidance with work and for the faststream application.
Dependent on what was going on. Sometimes really busy with tight deadlines but sometimes nothing to do at all. Very mixed an dependent on the business needs.
Enough to be able to get on with work that was challenging and be able to take ownership of mini projects and present the information.
I learnt how to do policy analysis mainly but also transferable skills such as project and time management, networking, communication, learning and improving and learning how to deliver results.
The Company
I worked with a busy team but everyone was very fun to chat to and lots of cake around!!
Everything tab very smoothly but also allowed you to shape your internship experience according to your own interests.
They were very encouraging to support us and make sure we knew everything to be able to make the decision to apply for the faststream or not.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Really convinced me to apply but it's ashame how interns have to go through the whole process again, which is very lengthy and more intense compared to other graduate schemes.
The Culture
Lots of ways to socialise and meet new people!
Expensive as it is Westminster.
