    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really interesting getting involved in real high profile issues that are affecting the UK currently.

  • Really nice people across the business. All the interns were really supportive along with faststreamers.

  • Lots of help and guidance with work and for the faststream application.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Dependent on what was going on. Sometimes really busy with tight deadlines but sometimes nothing to do at all. Very mixed an dependent on the business needs.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Enough to be able to get on with work that was challenging and be able to take ownership of mini projects and present the information.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt how to do policy analysis mainly but also transferable skills such as project and time management, networking, communication, learning and improving and learning how to deliver results.

  • I worked with a busy team but everyone was very fun to chat to and lots of cake around!!

  • Everything tab very smoothly but also allowed you to shape your internship experience according to your own interests.

  • They were very encouraging to support us and make sure we knew everything to be able to make the decision to apply for the faststream or not.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Really convinced me to apply but it's ashame how interns have to go through the whole process again, which is very lengthy and more intense compared to other graduate schemes.

  • Lots of ways to socialise and meet new people!

  • Expensive as it is Westminster.
