The Role
A very well structured and organised internship. Colleagues were very helpful and supportive, allowing me to develop my professional skills. Mercer also assigned an intern project, which required the interns to coordinate across the country.
The team were very welcoming, and I was given a variety of challenging tasks from the start which I felt were valuable to colleagues.
Management went out of their way to aid my development, giving me guidance to expand my industry knowledge. I was encouraged to go to senior meetings and social events, despite me just being an intern.
I was busy enough to always have something to do, but I never felt under stress. There were times when I had multiple projects with different deadlines, but I was able to manage these effectively.
It's difficult to assign such tasks due to the short time frame of work, but I felt the work I was doing was useful and would ultimately aid the team.
I feel as though my time management and work ethic has changed. I hope to put this to use in my final year.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and supportive of the interns. I really enjoyed working with the team and found them to be a great group of people.
Everything was very well organised from the start. The first and last day was in London, which allowed those in regional offices to meet the interns from other offices. I also travelled to Leeds and Liverpool from Manchester which allowed me to develop my knowledge of what Mercer does.
Mercer provided a variety of training for the interns, roughly 2 hours per week. This covered subjects across the business and industry.

Company Parties/Events
Highly appealing. I have been offered a graduate position as a result of my internship.
The Culture
The interns collaborated to work on a charity project, and also socialised several times from our own accord.
A lot cheaper than London!
Manchester has a great variety of clubs and bars.
Football team and social events.
