The Role
Excellent opportunity and valuable learning experience.
Managers took an interest in interns and their progress over the 9 weeks.
Could be very busy if working on project before upcoming deadline. Required taking initiative to actively acquire work to do.
I was given responsibility for several important projects, as well as helping the desk with some of their daily tasks, such as writing the morning note which was sent to clients.
Much of the technical knowledge I acquired over the summer will be relevant to my degree in finance. The one week of training is valuable, especially the markets training which is more relevant and applicable than the general, cross-divisional training.
The Company
Staff friendly and very helpful to interns.
The internship was well organised and ran smoothly. Communication between Graduate Recruitment and the intern class was efficient.
One week of initial training, as well as Reuters training and presentation skills training.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
The Culture
The interns got on well together and often socialised with each other outside of work.
Central London is obviously very expensive. There were, however, several social events put on by Deutsche Bank for the interns, free of charge.
