  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a fantastic experience. It was great learning new things and meeting new people almost every day.

  • I had a great team who always helped me out whenever I needed it. Went out with the for food and drinks and felt like I'd been working there for a while.

  • Always had something to do, and got assistance from my team and manager easily.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the start of the internship, I was not busy - I had to set up my desk, computer, email, etc. During the middle of the internship, work definitely picked up but it wasnt hard to find a good balance.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was really lucky because I was able to effectively lead a project. Got a lot of responsibility and really felt like I added value to the bank.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Just completed the internship, but it was a great experience. I am certain that the technical and soft skills I developed will be used throughout my life!

  • Professional is a good way to describe it, rather than fun.

  • Lots and lots of activities and learning sessions which gave a good break from work and an opportunity to network.

  • Quite a lot - learnt a lot of things and the bank really made you feel like you were a full time employee.

  • Very high conversion rate from internship to graduate schemes, unlike most other banks.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Lots of networking events to meet other interns and there were lots of things to do after hours.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expensive - it was in the City so I was expecting it. Rent is very expensive, but we got a housing allowance which helped that.

  • Pretty good. London's a big city and you can always find things to do.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • People were generally very busy since the internship took up most of the day and week. But I would say that there are lots of things to do outside work.
