The Role
It was a fantastic experience. It was great learning new things and meeting new people almost every day.
I had a great team who always helped me out whenever I needed it. Went out with the for food and drinks and felt like I'd been working there for a while.
Always had something to do, and got assistance from my team and manager easily.
At the start of the internship, I was not busy - I had to set up my desk, computer, email, etc. During the middle of the internship, work definitely picked up but it wasnt hard to find a good balance.
I was really lucky because I was able to effectively lead a project. Got a lot of responsibility and really felt like I added value to the bank.
Just completed the internship, but it was a great experience. I am certain that the technical and soft skills I developed will be used throughout my life!
The Company
Professional is a good way to describe it, rather than fun.
Lots and lots of activities and learning sessions which gave a good break from work and an opportunity to network.
Quite a lot - learnt a lot of things and the bank really made you feel like you were a full time employee.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Very high conversion rate from internship to graduate schemes, unlike most other banks.
The Culture
Lots of networking events to meet other interns and there were lots of things to do after hours.
Expensive - it was in the City so I was expecting it. Rent is very expensive, but we got a housing allowance which helped that.
Pretty good. London's a big city and you can always find things to do.
People were generally very busy since the internship took up most of the day and week. But I would say that there are lots of things to do outside work.
