The Role
Very tough, but very rewarding!
I built some great relationships. People get to know each other very well when working such long hours.
Everyone is willing/happy to help. Except when they are swamped in work, though, that is a different story.
Workload very volatile -- some days I would have work until 4AM, other days I would spend my day writing 6 emails.
Towards the end, I was trusted much more . It is normal not to be given responsibility in the beginning -- regardless of your knowledge/technical skills, you are close to useless!
The soft skills built during the internship (i.e. taking responsibility, working more quickly and efficiently at the same time, time management, working under stress and deadlines, etc.) will be of great use for anything I decide to do in life. Most of all, it will help in further job applications or corporate finance courses.
The Company
Was not cheery all the time, as workload varies from day to day. When everyone is busy, they just keep to themselves so they can quickly get the job done.
Perfect planning by the HR ladies.
Absolutely great.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I received an offer and will be signing the contract.
The Culture
Both colleagues and other interns were great and we had some fun drinks!
Central London, I feel I do not need to clarify!
As long as one has the time, there are lots of places to go to.
A good balance. Still, most of the time everyone is busy and stays in the office until late, but I was not disappointed.
