The Role
Good placement with plenty to do after the first few weeks. Was sent away on multiple training days and trips out. Some of the work was a little repetitive but this is to be expected from a summer internship.
Felt very much part of the team from day one.
Loads of support given. Everyone always had time/made time for advice and guidance.
Fairly busy after the first few weeks. Occasionally had to seek work that was not directly related to what I was doing.
By the end of the placement I was giving training sessions to fairly senior members of staff.
Very useful team working and industry skills developed.
The Company
Good office atmosphere with a mixture of work and home chat.
Slight IT issues at the beginning but these were quickly resolved.
Was sent on 2 intern training days, 3 days out and a day of in house training in addition to guidance given by line manager, supervisor and other staff.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Been offered a place on the grad scheme.
The Culture
Very lacking in Barnoldswick where my placement was.
Fairly cheap rent but lack of social activities.
Went out on a few work outings but the majority of people from the office lived further away (hour drive)
