The Role
Amazing opportunity to be exposed to a very exciting project.
The whole team was incredibly welcoming. They made me feel like I was working there for a few years. People outside the team were just as friendly.
I was given guidance whenever it was needed. I was told by everyone that there are no such things as ''silly questions" from day 1. I was also told what they were expecting from me.
The workload varied from week to week.
I was given work on two crucial projects without which the new factory could not be finished. I was checked only at predetermined checkpoints.
They will prove crucial in my final year
The Company
Everyone was hard working, but there was never a dull moment.
The Sunderland facility doesn't normally have interns so they didn't have all the kinks worked out, but it was pretty well organized.
They made sure we got involved in as many things as possible, however my time there was limited.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
I am currently waiting for an offer from them.
The Culture
Only 2 interns worked in Sunderland over the summer. The other colleagues all lived quite far away so I had no social life whatsoever.
Sunderland is a cheap city.
Did not get to go out due to the reasons explained above.
There weren't that many in Sunderland. Derby and Bristol offer a lot more opportunities.
