The Role
My supervisor was quite helpful with providing support when I first started and was full of questions. Sometimes she got too busy and support was harder to get.
I started out quite slow and with mundane tasks, but towards the end I found myself deeply immersed in various assignments.
I was an assignment for which my line manager expected my direct input and suggestions, and although this was daunting at first it was a great learning curve.
The Company
The people I worked with were great! Lots of talking and lots of joking on a daily basis, but things got a bit tense at the beginning of each month as there was a greater workload.
Solid structure in place for the internship, however I wish I got insight on more finance areas, as well as better training on software.
Lots of training available online, which was free to access. Also some basic training in software skills.

The finance graduate rotational program at RR is well-paid (considering it's not in London) and provides you with the chance to travel and discover what area of Finance you like most. The only disadvantage is that continuous rotations won't allow you to specialize in something in particular.
The Culture
There were very few graduates/apprentices/interns at our site, so it was often difficult to organize nights out. Other sites such as Derby and Bristol are better for interns.
Decently priced, accommodation is well-kept and relatively cheap in the surrounding areas.
Going out on weekends meant we had to share our nightlife with rough locals, so nights out on weekdays were often better.
Not much I'm afraid, this is because I was based in quite a small site. We did have football, tennis, bowling, movies organized sometimes.
