The Role
Enjoyed it, but desired more of a challenge!
I worked in a small team of 7, so it was a great close-knit team.
My Line Manager was a great support, answered all my questions and gave me constant insight to the business, but I know others have had a different experience.
Not much of a balanced workload, some days it was berserk, others it was quiet.
I was responsible for delivering workshops, roadshows, inductions and presentations single-handedly.
Good insight into the strategic and everyday role of my function.
The Company
Fairly quiet but friendly, probably due to not being open plan.
Manpower, the contractors that placement students are represented by were very disorganised. Also, late communication about location.
Given responsibility, but would have loved to visit other areas of the business.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
The Unilever Future Leader's Programme is tempting, just wish you didn't do 3 rotations in 1 function! Would be better to do 3 rotations in at least 2 functions, i.e. Sales and Supply Chain.
The Culture
Not many at my site, occasionally catched up. Caugth up lots with the other function students in London, which was great, but organised ourselves, rather than by Unilever.
I had to pay double rent, due to relocating and so it was an expensive 3 months. Socialising was cheap.
None, I lived in a village nearby.
We had a fantastic choir, sports clubs and social events.
