The Role
The job left me incredibly motivated and I was eager to get into work and carry on learning what I was doing.
I was made to feel like one of the team and I was helped with any questions I had, similarly helping them out where I could.
My manager and supervisor were both fantastic, I was left to do independent work from the outset but was given all the support needed and any questions I had were answered swiftly.
Plenty of work to do, manageable work load.
As a project manager it was imperative I took control and got the job done, thus responsibility was huge.
Skills learnt from programme management are transferable to any future task, thus everything I did at Rolls-Royce gave me value.
The Company
Work focussed but positive and friendly.
Few issues at the beginning sorting out IT delayed me for a week but other than that things were well planned and I had plenty to do.
I was able to take courses and online courses where required and could learn through any of the normal channels.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Chances for reapplying as an intern are strong and eventually aiming to join the graduate programme.
The Culture
Other interns were good fun and there was plenty to do.
Derby was very cheap.
Not so great on the night life, however.
Plenty of external graduate opportunities.
