The Role
A very valuable learning expierence, however I didn't love the job completely, and did have some issues with my role.
From day one I was made to feel part of the team, and I definitely made friends for life.
My manager was a very good role model and expierenced businessman, however at times direct supervision lacked a little. Sometimes fustrating, but ultimately a good learning expierence.
I could have been busier and pushed slightly more, but on the whole not too bad.
Trusted with very important projects, with accountability to both UK and European teams.
I learnt so much throughout the year, and feel a lot more confident in seeking out graduate opportunities.
The Company
I thinking working in an office will always be dull at some point! On the whole though a good atmosphere, and the people you're with liven up any killer spreadsheet.
Lots of people in place to help organise the placement scheme, and support interns throughout the year.
It was made clear from the very beginning that Unilever think of its interns as an integral part to the company's future.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I was offered a place on their graduate scheme.
The Culture
Took my work colleagues to my students' union!
Fairly expensive as most people live in London. I stayed in Guildford, which is still fairly expensive but not too awful.
Next to the office, there is practically nothing, but It's close enough to London to venture out.
The gym had numerous classes and sports clubs, and there are also volunteering opportunities.
