The Role
I worked with an excellent company who work on the most interesting and large scale projects in the country.
I worked with an amazing and supporting team who made me feel apart of the team, like another permanent colleague but more importantly apart of the company.
I had reviews with my supervisors regularly to ensure I have enough work, that the work was interesting and to raise any concerns I had. This allowed me to express objectives I would like to meet within the year placement. My supervisor would assign work that would allow me to develop and grow my knowledge and experience.
I was given enough responsibility that would ensure my time day to day was utilised. If I felt I had spare time or was quite, I would ask if there was anything I can assist my supervisor in and would receive additional tasks to complete.
I was supervised by the amount of responsibility give to me, I had the same responsibility as four other graduates in my team. I was responsible for large and important pieces of work for which I learnt a lot from. The experience I gained during the placement was invaluable.
I picked up a lot of skill during my placement, received a lot of training too. These skills make my work more professional, efficient and manageable. I would hope the skill I developed will assist in producing higher quality assignments at university and managing my time better.
The Company
As the project I worked on was at its initial design stage most of the work was office based, the atmosphere would change from Monday to Friday. At times the office would be buzzing with activities and others you could hear a pin drop.
Mott MacDonald have set in place an organised placement scheme, that ensure you have looked after and gaining experience.
Mott MacDonald allowed me to get training in area my supervisor and I felt I needed, some of the training was not free. Mott MacDonald took all of the training costs on them and ensured I received the training I required.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
My chances of gaining future employment with Mott MacDonald is high if I work hard at university and receive a good grade. They have invited me back for a summer placement if I want it next summer.
The Culture
I went on night out, theatre trips, monthly meals and weekend way with my colleagues so I would say there was a good social scene.
Mott MacDonald often organise bowling, golf tournaments, holidays and many other activities and events.
