The Role
My experience at Unilever was more than I could have hoped for as an industrial placement student! In comparison to friends at various companies the experience and skills I have gained far outweigh the experiences they had.
I was able to achieve a great work life balance at Unilever with the Flexible working time available.
My experience at Unilever was fantastic, I was provided with real responsibility from day 1 which also progressed during my time at the company as I became more experienced.
More than anything the work ethic I embraced during my placement year has provided me with the best possible start to my final year of studies; it has shown me that there are far more hours in the day!
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was great, open plan working and free ice cream is a good combination.
The company invested a lot financially in terms of training courses and also in terms of staff time to teach me about the various parts of the business.

Unilever have offered me a place on the Future Leaders Programme which is great to go back into my final year of University with employment after graduating without having to go through the drama of application processes again!
The Culture
Lots of the placement students lived within Clapham Junction or Wimbledon which was really close for socialising and commuting together.
Living in central London and commuting out to Unilever's office was very expensive however I had the experience of living in London which for me was worth the cost.
The location of the office is rather remote! However it is possible to be in central London within 35minutes for socialising with colleagues and friends on other placements which was easy enough.
During my placement year I was able to take part in a couple of football teams both 5 a side and 11 a side which was great.
