About You
It was helpful to know about the different departments within Citi in the ICG. I also got the chance to expose myself to the different representatives from different departments.
The programme I attended had about 30ish people so it was good to interact with everyone. With HR around you, they assisted with any questions or queries we had in a friendly manner.
The sessions which I attended mostly were presentations from different divisions but the FT reading session was particularly good. I also played a few banking games to understand the mechanics of some departments.
The communication skills through games and networking opportunities was great. My public speaking skills were greatly enhanced too with a chance to give presentations as part of the game.
The Company
It was 3 day programme with a specific timetable that was needed to be followed by the HR. This involved tours and presentations. One activity per day was an enjoyable one and had the chance to interact with people around you and the firm.
The atmosphere was really friendly on all fronts from HR to representatives from different departments. The bankers around me answered the questions properly and took their time and seemed to be calm and not in a rush.
They spent a great deal of time to make us understand the relevance of each division but I don't think 3 days was enough. The programme could have extended and offered more shadowing opportunities with different divisions.
The culture within the firm was really friendly and the people seemed to come across professionally all along but at the same time were there to help in a friendly manner. Would definitely like to work here.
Same as above. The culture within the firm was really friendly and the people seemed to come across professionally all along but at the same time were there to help in a friendly manner. Would definitely like to work here.
The interaction and presentations introduced to different departments within ICG to help me make a decision which division I want to end up in. I particularly liked the Trading and Banking games in it.
Everything Else
They reimbursed the travel expenses I had utilised on the tube while commuting to the spring week.
Only had a chance to do so in a London Bus Tour as it gave me an opportunity to talked to professionals around me. Also there was a networking dinner where I had a meal with different employees.

Same as above. Employees talked about gyming and sports quite a bit. They talked about regular annual matches with different firms and intra-firm too which really appealed to me as part of the job.
This is definitely worth doing to find out the department you're more applicable to and mostly enjoy as it has a good overview of all the divisions within the ICG. The Certificate in Finance Programme.
