The Role
It was challenging but the work was enjoyable and interesting, I always felt a sense of achievement at the end of each day.
I was made to feel very comfortable when I joined and I always felt like part of the permanent team, not just an intern.
I was assigned a mentor in each department I worked in, I always had someone who I could go to for support and guidance. I never felt like I couldn't ask for help!
Each department I worked in has very different daily tasks and projects but I always had something to work on. Not only did the work load enable me to learn a vast amount of information, it also made the days fly by quickly.
I was very surprised at how much responsibility I was given right from the start, within days I was producing my own work and sending out Reports to colleagues in the company. This level of responsibility provided me with a sense of ownership over the work I produced.
The placement was an invaluable experience, I never expected to learn so much about finance and it has been the perfect platform for setting me up for my last year of University.
The Company
My colleagues were all lovely and we had a lot of fun whilst working hard.
The placement was organised very well.
They invested a lot into my self development, sending me on a range of courses, such as Intermediate and Advanced Excel.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I have left the company wanting to go back when I graduate, so I will be applying for their finance graduate scheme in the up and coming months.
The Culture
I met many good friends whilst on my placement that I intend to keep in contact with.
I lived at home during my placement so was not affected by the cost of living in the area.
The nightlife in Bristol was great.
There are various nights out organised by teams in the company.
