The Role
This placement provides many different job roles some are more challenging than others but overall it was a good year.
This also could vary between job roles as you have to treat each role like it was your real job. So if you have a problem you go to your 'line manager' to deal with it. However there was always a point of contact known as the Regional Training mentor who was there for you at all times. He was an excellent point of support throughout my whole year.
As the majority of my placement was based in store this is by far the most hectic area of the business with massive workloads especially if you are getting trained as a Store manager or Deputy Store manager.
The responsibility could vary however on the whole we were given a fair amount.
The placement was not in my degree field however the management experience I received was second to none.
The Company
Some office departments have better atmosphere than others.
The organization for this placement could have been considerably better however I am lead to believe that there are changes within the placement for the following year so that shouldn't be a further issue.
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
Very high if you have realistic expectations.
The Culture
Very good social scene among the students as we met regularly every 3 months.
Stayed at home so no living costs.
Mostly working relationships
