The Role
The office was professional and friendly.
You receive constant feedback from your line manager - whether that is in the form of constructive criticism or appreciation.
You sit on the same desk as your line manager who is responsible for you. You are also given a "buddy" who can provide extra support and advice.
You get given one big project which you present at the end of your internship, so that keeps you busy throughout. Your line manager is responsible for giving you daily projects and tasks.
Because you are predominantly on one desk over the course of the eight weeks, you are increasingly trusted with more responsibility.
You can opt to do extra IT training in programmes like excel which is really useful for my degree course. Otherwise, simply the experience of being in the work place will hopefully assist me in applying for jobs upon graduation.
The Company
The atmosphere is really friendly.
It was a very structured and organised programme.
At the beginning of the internship you state exactly what you want to achieve from your eight weeks. The projects and tasks given to you are then geared towards your personal goals.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
They offer some of the interns a place on their CDP programme for the following year.
The Culture
Yes, there was a good social scene, particularly amongst those on the Graduate Programme.
London is inevitably expensive. The office occasionally put on social events.
The office was in the City - a fun and lively area, full of many who also work in Insurance!
It is slightly difficult when you are not there for very long, but there is an opportunity to get involved in sports teams.
