The Role
The work itself is varied. It will be long hours on the whole and they will work you hard but it is worth it. I loved being with lots of other graduates and the social life is great.
Everyone was really nice and actively looked to help people integrate into the firm. You were treated as a graduate rather than a placement student which was really nice.
You would have regular meetings with your supervisor and people manager to discuss your progress and give you help where needed.
You will work very long hours, particularly in the busy season.
I was treated like a graduate and often given work way above my level. This extra responsibility was really good and made me develop as a person very quickly.
At my first lecture I could already see that the information that I learnt on my placement is going to help massively with final year. Doing the ACA qualification also added to this.
The Company
Rarely in the office as you are mostly out at the client site. Everyone is really friendly and there is always lots going on in the office. Once a month dress down days were amazing.
Very well organized, it was less of a placement though, rather a grad scheme.
Lots of training that prepares you for your job, including the ACA qualification. However, this will take a couple of months out of your working experience.
