The Role
I very much enjoyed the variety of tasks I was given, as well as being given a project that was entirely my own.
I felt very valued, I was trusted with tasks for customers and things that were important to the company.
If I needed help with anything, there were always people who I could ask who were happy to help.
The only downside to my internship was that I felt I did not have enough to do. I had to ask for more tasks very frequently. However, new tasks were provided for me if there were things to be done.
I was in charge of creating an app for the launch of a new product, as well as various other tasks that had responsibility. I was also had to work out how a piece of external hardware worked for integration with the company's software.
I have gained skills in CADCAM software which will be useful in my degree and I have learnt more about the work environment which I feel will be very useful for life after university.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly. It was a very nice work environment.
It was well organised other than that I did not have enough work to do, however this was due to there being another intern in the same department as me, which I think is not going to happen in the future.
We were given 2 weeks' training in a range of the company's software which will benefit us in the future.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered a second internship for the coming summer, which I am currently contemplating.
The Culture
All the placements students as well as the graduates had a good social scene and it was very inviting. The company also had subsidised social events.
I found socialising a similar price to at university. I did not find it overly expensive nor particularly cheap.
I did not go out that much as I don't enjoy it, however, the night life seemed to be pretty good.
There were subsidised company activities like go-carting and frisbee-golf.
