The Role
It was very organised, flexible and a great work environment.
I felt valued from day 1.
On the first day I was given clear guidance, and then throughout whenever I needed help I could always approach my supervisor.
At times I had a lot on, and then some days there would be very limited work.
The main responsibility was through the independence and flexibility given. I was given my tasks to complete, and then it was my responsibility to do those as I thought was best.
It is provided me with a real insight. I immensely enjoyed all aspects of the internship, and it also helped develop confidence in some of my skills. Some of the tasks given also challenged other aspects of my skill-set.
The Company
It was overall a very good atmosphere. The main reason this has not received a full score is because there was work to do and around the deadlines, there was a certain amount of focus.
It was generally well organised - especially in the beginning. The aspects that were less organised, I was able to approach my supervisor about. He was always open to answering any questions.
They ensured that I was exposed to different aspects of the business. My tasks were also varied - not the same task done over and over again.
Some of the interns had plans to stay on. My supervisor showed how I could apply to stay on if I wanted to.
The Culture
I started later than most interns, so was less integrated in the social scene. However, I did notice that those interns that started together had a very good social scene.
It is in London, so living and especially transport do quickly add up.
I personally did not take advantage of the nightlife, but it being London there are many different places.
Some of the other interns were involved in other activities. I personally did not look into it much, but it seemed that there were opportunities.
