    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great people, never a dull moment. Always something new to do. Great to visit lots of different contract sites.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Felt I could be relied upon to complete important tasks and didn't feel I was always given admin and tedious tasks.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Was given support by my management whenever I required it. Help was always available and I never felt I was un-supported.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The business is contract based so workloads varied, sometimes I was extremely busy staying late to get work done, other times not a lot was going on with business development so was not as busy.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel I was given a fair amount of responsibility as I was often asked to complete important tasks which could affect my managers but also contracts and bids for new work.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I will be better at using my time, how I will go about completing my work. It has also given me a great insight into the working world so i will find it easier to make the transition from uni to work after my final year.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was generally happy and cheerful but like most companies there were off days.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Could have been better organised as my manager had 7 graduates and 2-year-in industry students to manage but everything else to do with myself and being there was well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Was sent on an ILM management course and was also presented opportunities to go on other courses relating to the business. Also attended away days and visits to contract sites.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The business is always changing so in a year's time when I am looking for work there may be a role, there may not.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had a good social committee that organised events paid for by the company. Sometimes, however, a little cliquey and reluctant to involve others.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cheap as I lived at home.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Was OK, I know the area so enjoyed it.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes events were often organised by the social committee and when they were, they were well done.

    4/5
