    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a good opportunity for me. I was given real work from the start; gaining valuable hands-on experience and feeling that this was beneficial not only for my CV, but personally as well.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They’ve given real work as soon as I got in. From that point on, I felt like they trust me enough to complete the job. They’re kind enough to ask me if I needed anything. That’s how I felt I was valued at the company.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Whilst I was given tasks to do and allowed to get on with them, everyone passing by would stop to talk and make sure I was coping well. Most of the time I was working alongside a senior member of the firm. I felt comfortable enough to ask if I needed any help or was unsure.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Dynamic, active, busy- completely contrary to what I expected a council to be like- the team I worked within was quite young and totally engaged with their new role.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very pleasant - people were very friendly and open. I always felt I could talk to people and ask questions, even if they were not on my department
