The Role
It was slightly overwhelming at first, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
There was a strong support network in place, with an assigned 'buddy' and 'dean' and the desk I worked with were supportive
A lot! There were PLENTY of people around and they were always there to listen to your very question and answer anything literally. The most heard sentence during the week was 'no question is a stupid question', which led to plenty of networking during the week with all representatives from the firm's various lines of business.
In general i had enough work to keep me busy, but not so much that i felt stressed out.
For many of my tasks i was given just as much responsibility as the full time employees.
For life and beyond, I'd say, I'm going to always make good use of these skills. More than skills, a treasure trove. Really, I learned more skills and developed communication/networking skills I already had even further. We picked up plenty of skills and information which are going to be incredibly valuable for the whole of our career and life either at the firm or elsewhere, anything from internship application tips to networking advice.
The Company
It was way more fun to work there than i though an office could be!
The internship was set up very well
They invested plenty on me! The one-on-one work shadowing, tailored sessions and presentations were in place for us to learn, develop new skills and get trained for working at such a big firm... I felt welcomed and wanted, with all the resources they had dedicated to us!!
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
I would love to go back into the company sometime in the future.
The Culture
All other placement students were similar to myself and i've made some friends for life.
It was in a way expensive especially if you are a student
Staff nights out never failed to entertain....
A lot. Some invite me to sports activities and night outs.
