The Role
It was extremely enjoyable, especially as I was basically given a task to work on and then could work from my home.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, who seemed to be incredibly impressed by the production skills I had learned on my university course. Also, I really felt that the presenters appreciated the depth of research I had undertook to make sure the information and facts they were reciting were correct and interesting.
Any problems I had, I just phoned the office or emailed one of their technical advisors who would either tell me what to do or tell me to come in if it was particularly tricky.
Sometimes I feel like the job has taken over my life, but I would much prefer this than to be doing nothing all of the time.
They expected me to be extremely responsible as they would give me an aspect to work on then I would be expected to work on it for a couple of days ready to return to the office by a specified deadline.
I have become more confident, considerate and willing to give and take. Not only have I learnt job skills, but life skills
The Company
Often the office was pretty quiet but there was always someone around ready to have a laugh and joke
I work in a very busy department, so it wasn't totally that organised, but I think the best way of learning is being thrown in at the deep end - which I certainly was!!
The placement was very well organised. HR and the office I worked in were involved to make sure we settled in well and received some really helpful training.

I'd love to work at 3M again, but it really depends on the availability of a job.
The Culture
Our group hit it off really well right from the start. Since 6 of us are all going to the same university, there are only more fun times to come!
The town was apparently quite expensive - but I know some of my fellow students got some fairly well priced housing.
It was fun and as long as you know how to budget you allowance, you will have a blast.
There weren't many opportunities unless you set them up yourself. People were often keen to go out for lunchtimes though, and sometimes after work.
