The Role
I felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout my placement which made the experience even more enjoyable. Whilst I know that I do not want a career in Market Research, the support and friendship I received meant I had an enjoyable time. Also, I gained lots of transferable skills and enjoyed the routine of my job - I always knew what needed to be done and by when which meant I could work independently.
My Supervisor and Manager were absolutely amazing, giving me lots of responsibility from the offset and asking my opinions on things.
I had a fantastic relationship with my team: they encouraged me to use my initiative and I never felt stupid when asking the same question multiple times.
There was always something to do - even when I'd finished producing my monthly reports my Supervisor would find other tasks for me to complete so I was always learning new things.
I was given several reports which became my sole responsibility and felt able to ask for new tasks too.
Before my placement I was rather unfamiliar with Excel and since my job revolved around using spreadsheets, I have become a lot more confident using it which will no doubt help me in the future. I have also learnt how to use several online analytical tools which is useful.
The Company
I had a great time where I sat as I chatted to the people around me constantly (whilst working of course).
They knew what they wanted me to be doing but never made me feel under pressure as they gradually increased my workload as my confidence grew which I really appreciated.
There were lots of courses for people to enroll on and I went to as many as I could. My team were incredibly supportive - always encouraging me to grab every opportunity. I was allowed to go to a focus group once too which was very insightful.

I joined LinkedIn so I can keep in touch with everyone I met at Disney after I graduate. I have heard of several previous interns being recommended for roles after finishing Uni which is great.
The Culture
I worked in the Chiswick Park Building which had about 30 interns, whilst the Hammersmith office had over 100. By the time someone else starts this placement, practically everyone will be based in the Hammersmith which will be great in terms of socialising. I made loads of friends during my internship and lived with 4 other Disney interns whilst working there too.
It's London so obviously it's going to cost more but I didn't care because I think the place is amazing! A bottle of beer would often cost me a fiver, but I got over it. There's so much to do and if you want you can do stuff on the cheap what with all the free museums etc. Also our rent was incredibly reasonable for London, we lived in North Acton and it cost much less than £500 a month so it pays to look around!
There's something for everyone in London! There are still so many clubs I am yet to go to.
Chiswick Park held loads of events throughout the week that anyone from one of the various businesses could get involved in.
