The Role
I had a fantastic year on placement and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The team were welcoming and supportive throughout.
My manager and indirect manager gave me all the support I could have needed, whilst also encouraging me to be independent and make decisions on my own.
Every day at placement was extremely busy but I enjoyed the faster pace.
I was given a great deal of responsibility which made me feel valued and trusted at work, whilst still being managed well on tasks which may have been out of my depth.
I learnt an enormous amount whilst on placement which I know will benefit me greatly further into my career.
The Company
Hard working and occasionally very stressfil but a fun environment too.
The only fault I could find was that I was not told which Buying office I would be placed in until my first day on the job. If I had known this in advance, I could have begun researching my product area and getting to grips with assortments sooner.
The extra training courses were brilliant.

I would love to work at John Lewis again.
The Culture
We socialised but I feel the company could have done more to connect us - we found each other on our own accord.
London as expected is very expensive.
Brilliant but expensive.
The Partnership offer lots of societies and team events.
