The Role
A great challenge, learnt so much and networked greatly.
I wasn't completely technical, but supervisors gave me time and taught me well.
Great support by management, good appraisal system and frequent 1-2-1 meetings with line manager.
Often were stretched if incidents were happening, although when project work was low and no tickets came in can have a period of downtime, though this was rare.
Often left with fully accountable IT based solution projects for the lab environment.
Used a lot of statistical collecting methods that I've learnt during university, great to see it put into practice.
The Company
Fun! Great place to work - friendly atmosphere and many building games and team building events!
Fairly well organised, and a designated industrail placement 'champion' within GSK to talk to for any queries.
Given many chances to proceed on external and in house courses, though needs to be done with self-motivation.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Difficult grad-scheme with very limited spaces.
The Culture
Fantastic atmosphere and many chances to go out with the all the students across GSK.
Not your uni prices but whilst earning you can easily have a good night out!
Not great for clubs, however many quaint pubs.
Great sports and social club, with on site gym.
