The Role
Really enjoyable, friendly environment. Given good work rather than just basic work.
Given good respect everyone was really friendly and was happy to help.
The HR manager and my manager were just great in terms of the support i was given, especially with things that were new to me.
Mostly, I was busy but when I wasn't, research for the interns project presentation filled the minutes adequately.
I was left to do a lot on my own which to me showed the trust the organisation has in its employees. I was also given the opportunity to work on a number of projects that were reviewed at board level.
I genuinely feel that what I learnt and the experience I gained over my internship will benefit me no end, especially in the immediate future.
The Company
The atmosphere was ok in the office, they had moments of fun but always within a professional environment.
We were given a week of intensive training (technical and soft skills), before hitting our desks for 9 weeks. During those 9 weeks, Human Resources offered constant support. There were regular assessments and appraisals to encourage us to gain the most from our internships.
UBS went to considerable trouble and expense to train us well, provide us with networking events, and ensure our happiness.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
As a huge organization, there are always exciting and challenging opportunities to be pursued.
The Culture
There were constant meet-ups at weekends, and regular social events. Many of the interns have stayed in touch and still go out together.
London is expensive, but the rewards more than compensate.
There is always plenty to do: including a very vibrant nightlife.
There is always something happening socially, but if you fancy doing something specific one evening or one weekend, you can just organize it yourself!
