The Role
It was worth the time as I have learned a lot from my internship.
They gave me work that a regular employee would do so that
Whilst I was given tasks to do and allowed to get on with them, everyone passing by would stop to talk and make sure I was coping well. Most of the time I was working alongside a senior member of the firm. I felt comfortable enough to ask if I needed any help or was unsure.
I've been given enough task to last a whole day.
Not much at first. But after seeing that I can do more, I was given more responsibility
I believe that the skills I have developed and the training I received will be of great use. Managing and prioritizing tasks/projects is a highly useful skill that can be demonstrated in any industry or place of work.
The Company
Dynamic, active, busy- completely contrary to what I expected a council to be like- the team I worked within was quite young and totally engaged with their new role.
Very pleasant - people were very friendly and open. I always felt I could talk to people and ask questions, even if they were not on my department
Whenever there was the opportunity for some training, I was always asked if I would like to go, and I did indeed go to them, and it was very worthwhile!
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I would like to return to the company but I would also like to explore other roles than the one I was assigned during my placement.
The Culture
Yes definitely, I made lots of friends and even after the placement we are still staying in touch.
The accommodation was cheap but socializing was just expensive in some places.
Really good nightlife in the area although it was quite expensive to go out. There were special nights aimed directly at workers.
Yes i did conservation and we have a sports and social club.
