The Role
I really enjoyed the placement and the people were great. The only downside was I don't believe I was given the opportunity to really push myself and utilise my leadership skills.
They were all lovely! Both managers and non-management partners were extremely welcoming and friendly.
Again, they were extremely supportive and receptive to ideas.
I was very busy, but it was quite repetitive. There wasn't really any variety in what I was doing.
I wasn't given as much responsibility as I was expecting.
The things I learnt on this internship will definitely support me in a career in retail management.
The Company
Everyone was helpful and supportive and there was a great sense of teamwork.
This seems to vary depending on where the interns were placed. Communication wasn't great between the central team and the branch.
It was a well paid internship so the company invested a considerable amount!
I still have to go through the graduate recruitment process but I hope this experience will help me!
The Culture
This isn't really relevant because there was only one intern in my branch, but there was definitely a great social scene amongst all the employees!
It was what I am used to as I was placed close to home! Neither particularly cheap nor expensive.
Could have been better! But there were nice pubs and bars around.
Not really for an intern because I was only there for 6 weeks, but the Partnership as a whole definitely has plenty of outside-of-work activities.
