The Role
The job provided real responsibility from day one, offering an exciting variety of tasks and duties to work on throughout the year. The team were extremely welcoming and approachable and made an effort to recognise hard work.
A lot, right from the start I was included in high profile case work. I was also included in networking events.
Weekly catch-up meetings were held between myself and my manager to dicsuss the workload being handled at that moment in time as well as any concerns I was feeling. My manager was easy to approach and offered support to me on a continuous basis.
Very busy, the opportunities were there to be taken and should you wish to you could work as much as you wanted!
Obviously you are on a placement to learn. I found after a month my responsibility started to increase steadily.
Management of time and work has particularly since returning to University.
The Company
Generally people kept themselves to themselves during the working day with the occasional chat here and there. Effort was made to attend regular team lunches however to ensure that the right work/life balance was achieved.
The whole process from application to termination at the end of the year was faultless and stress free. The placement was well organised with various workshops to attend in the first few months to help us settle in and also with thorough product training in my division.
The company put you through a lot of training at the start, completing two week long courses on Recovery and Reorganization at their dedicated training facility. There was then the opportunity to undertake just about any course that could aid your development and when a course was required
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
The company have a highly respectable Graduate Scheme and place employees on career paths with clear progession prospects.
The Culture
Yes, I had a great relationship with a few of the placement students. But also the graduates. The opportunity was provided to mix with the other placement students and graduates. All were treated together.
It was cheap because it was in the same city that I live in.
Nightlife was a good laugh and was relatively cheap due to it being in a student area.
There wasn't much organised social events but I had made friends to organize my own thing with people.
