The Role
Microsoft interns are given amazing opportunities to learn and develop new skills in an exciting environment!
My team were great, not only for support and mentoring but as friends that I shall keep in touch with. Microsoft also has an incredibly warm atmosphere, with all colleagues willing to help and support you in your early career. I have built a valuable network.
I have regular 1/1 meetings with my manager to ensure my performance and development stays on track.
My work load has varied from having enough to loads of work! Don't expect an easy ride but the opportunities that arise are too good to turn down! M
My day to day role allows me to work with senior leaders with our business, meaning the responsibility is significant for an intern. There are also opportunities to manage teams and get involved in stretch projects outside your job role.
My role at Microsoft is not specific to my degree, however I have learnt what it takes to succeed in a corporate giant. Further to this I have learnt professional etiquette which is vital for future carriers.
The Company
Very vibrant, exciting and innovative company in an ever changing and growing technology industry, here was never a dull moment!
Very well organised, great support and training! They host induction days to meet your fellow interns before you start in July!
At Microsoft there are huge development opportunities. Interns are offered mentoring from the senior leadership and multiple training and certifications! Most are free if charge too!
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
As an intern you are fast tracked to the graduate scheme! Despite being an intern, there is no guarantee of a grad job as they are hugely competitive!
The Culture
Great social atmosphere between interns, I have made some great friends! Induction week is great fun with plenty of opportunity to make friends!
I am based in reading which is relatively cheap especially as London is only 30 minute train away!
Reading is a university town.... London is also not far away if you want a change of scenery!
I have played football in Europe with the staff team! There are many other 'extra curricular ' activities!
