The Role
Fantastic experience and insight into what a career at EY would be like. Would definitely recommend if your considering a career in financial services but not sure if it's for you.
Impressive number of support networks were set up for interns from buddies who were our age to mentors who we could discuss careers goals with.
Working in audit it ranged from days in the office where 9-5 was pretty standard, to being on client site and working to a set deadline where you'd stay until the work was done however late that was.
Limited amount of responsibility although more due to lack of technical skills/ training than anything else
Definitely applicable in terms of technical and transferable skills. Although learnt more from working on the job then any training they gave us.
The Company
Positive. I particularly enjoyed the very team focused environment of audit.
Summer internship team had done virtually as much as they could to ensure that we were as well organised and informed as possible.
Specific intern events were put on for our training/ career development. We were encouraged to take online web based learning courses as well.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Excited about starting come September
The Culture
One of the highlights of the internship was meeting so many other like minded people and we organised lots of different social events
London. Hideously expensive. Especially for those who were used to being at uni up north
London never sleeps and lots of opportunities for fun outside of work
Lots. Interns were strongly encouraged to socialise with all other wider EY networks
